Today’s feature is something I’m really excited about: protein shakes. I’ve been on my own health journey these past two years and have recently discovered something that I am really excited to share.

I go to Orangetheory Fitness and work really hard to take care of my health however, I am not seeing any changes in my body.  I started to get really frustrated because I am eating well and doing the physical work needed so why am I not seeing results. (Can anyone else relate?) Well, I started talking to a Registered Dietician about my diet and exercise routine and discovered that I was not consuming enough protein. Protein is a macronutrient that is needed to strengthen our hair/nails, build and repair tissues and is the building block of muscles. I eat a mainly plant-based diet which means that I eat mainly veggies with the addition of chicken and seafood. Basically, I am not eating enough protein to build the muscle that I am working so hard at creating in the gym!



I don’t like most meats and/or other forms of protein so I decided to add protein shakes into my diet. I’ve tried every single type and they were all literally so gross. Protein is important to me but so is happiness and forcing myself to drink a disgusting shake is soo not good for my mental health. I swore off all protein shakes until I discovered Svelte Protein Shakes.  

Svelte protein shakes are plant-based, vegan, non-gmo, gluten free, organic, kosher and dairy free. They contain 11g of protein and are delicious. Personally, the French vanilla is my favorite flavor although there are 4 other flavors: chocolate, banana crème, cappuccino and spiced chai. What I love about these shakes it that it is not only quality content but their packaging is ecofriendly and is mainly made from paper.


Guys, these protein shakes are the only thing I can drink to supplement my diet. && they actually work. I feel better and I am starting to see results! It’s incredible!

How I like to add these shakes into my daily routine…

  1. Drink it. These come in single use packages so they are perfect to just drink in the morning with a bar or oatmeal. Personally, I love drinking this and the blueberry RX Bar.
  2. Make a smoothie. If you need a little something extra, blend this shake with 1 frozen banana or strawberries and a handful of spinach as a morning smoothie.
  3. Post-workout. This is the best time to drink a protein shake because your body needs protein as fuel to build muscles. Our bodies do not store excess protein so there is no reserve when we get low. I usually just drink this or I mix this shake with a spoonful of unflavored protein powder for a punch.
  4. Protein coffee. Guys, this is amazing. Go to Starbucks or Dunkins and get a shot of expresso in a cup of ice. Then, add your shake into the cup and drink your vanilla expresso protein coffee. YUM.
